Great news!
Caldwell is a player who will help the Dawgs. I saw somewhere that he has been compared to Joe Johnson. I think that that's a fair comparison. No, Caldwell has not played a game of Division One basketball. However, he reminds of Johnson in the sense that he is a big guard with range from deep and enough of a handle to take it to the basket going either to the right or left.
With a strength and conditioning program at the college level, Caldwell should be able to bulk up a bit and boost his vertical jump. He doesn't have incredible leaping ability right now, but he is just going into his senior year.
