Guess Ben Watson can still play a little bit

Has caught 9 passes tonight for 113 yards and a touchdown.

Hate to see Watson do this against the Falcons, but I'm proud of him.  Class act.

Maybe Atlanta is waiting on the fourth quarter to make things exciting.

Ben Watson Honored

Ben Watson, former tight end at UGA, has received the 2012 "Call to Courage" award, an honor that recognizes Ben for his leadership, service and Christian faith.

Watson has also been elected to join the NFLPA's executive committee. An article on the award, with pictures of Watson, his wife and daughter can be found below.

He's with the Browns now instead of the Pats. Watson talks about going up against a former coach and friend this weekend.

Ben Watson to the Browns

Ben Watson is moving on. After playing for 6 years for the New England Patriots, he has found a new home with the Cleveland Browns.

According to the attached article, Watson signed a six-year deal worth $12 million.

He'll be challenged to contribute to a team that has been down for a good while. The Browns started off last year going 1 and 11 before they won their last 4 games.

Ben Watson Bursts Out of the Closet

Watson was almost cut by the New England Patriots just before the season started. Somehow, he managed to hang on with the team, and keep a balanced perspective throughout.

He hauled in two clutch touchdown passes in the first week of the season, and he caught the game-winning touchdown against the Carolina Panthers in a recent game.

I'm happy to see him to so well. The article below, though somewhat dated, tells how Watson got off to a good start, transferred to UGA, and persevered through injuries to get a Super Bowl ring.

Ben Watson Ready to Play as Pats Take on Colts

Got to love the attitude. Watson is playing hurt. Still performing at a high level. Ignoring his critics. Making plays.

The New England Patriots against the Indianapolis Colts is always a great game. Hope Watson plays well.

Ben Watson Continues Impressive Season

He led the New England Patriots in receiving this past weekend. He had 2 catches for 51 yards. Not a huge output, but on a team with Randy Moss and other receivers as options, it's something for the tight end to lead the team.

As Tom Brady has more confidence in Watson, he'll start to look for Watson more.

Ben Watson Scores Two Touchdowns in Two Minutes

Great story on Watson. Guy just had a monster game on Monday Night Football. His two touchdown catches propelled the Patriots to victory over the Buffalo Bills, 25 to 24.

Bad Day for Dawgs in the NFL

D.J. Shockley and Thomas Brown were cut by the Falcons.

Kregg Lumpkin was not kept by the Packers, if memory serves me.

Leonard Pope was cut by the Cardinals.

I thought that the Patriots were going to let Ben Watson go, but he made the 53-man roster.

Richard Seymour got traded from the Patriots to the Oakland Raiders. Isn't that about like getting cut? Don't know what happened to that franchise, but everytime I see something in the press about the team, it's bad.

I saw on one of the message boards that Fernando Velasco and Marcus Howard were cut. Maybe some of the guys will get picked up, some will make a practice roster. But it's hard to put your heart and soul into making a team and then at the last possible time, be let go.

Man, here's hoping for a better weekend for the Dawgs next weekend.

Let Me Upgrade Ya

Ben Watson is in a battle to keep his job with the New England Patriots.

Management has brought in a couple of players at Watson's position, and Ben is facing a challenge. His production has dropped off over the last couple of years. Now, the main reason for fewer catches is that the Patriots aren't throwing the ball his way. Nonetheless, it's plain to see that the team is thinking of some sort of change.
