Jason Morris to Tech

Morris is a guy that I had hoped would sign with UGA. Incredible hops and a really good-looking stroke.

From all I understand, Morris tends to vanish at times, so he will need some development before he is ready to make his full contribution. But make no mistake about it, the talent is there.

Maybe there will be some good news for UGA from Jalen Kendrick, Shawn Kemp, or Josh Langford.

Jason Morris Visits

Unfortunately, it was Clemson that got the visit last week, instead of Georgia.

Morris was in Clemson for an unofficial visit. He went with his father and hung out with the team.

Recruiting is very much momentum driven. If you bring in someone like Noel Johnson, it makes it easier for the next potential recruit to give you serious consideration.

Looks like it will be either Clemson, Georgia Tech or Stanford for Morris.

Bad Camera Work, Great Hops

Jason Morris can leap, that's for sure.

Morris is the kind of 2 guard that Georgia needs. Very athletic. Great feel for the game. Probably needs to attack the rim more, get to the line, and make things easier for himself. He's still very young, so if you combine the physical skills with another year of learning, some college team is going to get an elite recruit.

Morris is originally from the Augusta area, so you have to figure that Georgia has at least a shot with him. Morris attended a camp held by previous coach, Dennis Felton. A lot has happened since then, and from what I understand, colleges in the northeast are pursuing Morris. In any case, I think that Mark Fox should be able to get on the radar screen for Morris.

ESPN Top 60 for 2010

ESPN has released their list of the top 60 high school basketball players for 2010.

A few athletes from Georgia were named, including Jalen Kendrick, Jordan McRae, and Trae Golden.

UGA recruit, Jason Morris, is on the list as well.

Jason Morris is an Elite Performer

Georgia was on him early, but it sure is crowded around this guy.

New England Recruiting Report has the best profile of Morris that I have seen. Their profile and video are free.

As evidenced by the video, Morris has nice form on his jumpshot. And he is a high-riser. The guy jumped 6' 3" as a freshman track athlete back in 2006. Here's the link:

He won't graduate until 2010, so he has a couple years to work on getting his vertical up to where it matches mine... Ha!

Georgia has a chance to sign Jason Morris for the 2010 class. Morris is originally from Augusta, I think, and I believe that he attended camp at UGA.

Looks like we'll only have one scholarship to give. But if Jason Morris is the signee, I would consider that to be good work for the recruiting staff.
