Ugly

Bout the worst half of basketball I've ever seen.  Mercifully, I had to take a call and missed the second half.

That's all I have to say about that.

Little Adjustments

sometimes go a long way.

I noted last game that Sherrard Brantley has improved his footwork.  He was making the same error Dustin Ware made last year, being that his base was way too wide.  If your feet are wider apart than your shoulders, you're not going to hit three-pointers.

Against FAMU, Brantley had his feet closer together and he went 3 for 3.  If he can keep focusing on the fundamentals, the results will follow.  We'll need him tonight and during the Florida game.  UF is much bigger and stronger than we are in the post, so being able to hit jumpshots will be key.

Georgia Plays George Washington

Short interview with Coach Fox is on the official web site.

Ga vs. GW

Georgia can't just waltz through this one tonight.  George Washington is certainly not an elite team, but if UGA slips back into old habits, we might get embarassed.

To win this one, we'll need balanced scoring and good rebounding from our bigs.  This is the last game before the big contest at Florida, so I'm hoping the Dawgs are able to get out and run and gain some confidence going into the SEC schedule.

Helpless

That's the first word I thought of when I saw the picture of Travis Leslie rising high over the poor defender who tried to stop him.  All resistance was futile.

Leslie

Travis has been a stat stuffer in his stint with the D-League.  In addition to his highlight reel dunks, Leslie has been showing the complete package.  In this last game he notched 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.  He shot 8 of 12 from the field.

That latest output for Travis was right on his average of 16 points and 8 boards per game.  He is also shooting 56 percent from the field and an impressive 46 percent from behind the arc.  Leslie has led the Santa Cruz Warriors to first place in the League, with a 9 and 2 record.

I think Leslie will make it back to the NBA some time soon.
