Update: Coach Fox must have chewed them out during the t.v. timeout. Dawgs go on a mini-run and are up 20 to 13. Shouldn't be nearly this close, but I'll take a win however we can get it.

We're Going to Struggle This Year-- Wofford Up 11 to 10

Half of the shots we have taken up to the 10:02 mark of the first half (half-way through the first half) are three-pointers. Zero points from our big men.

How can we score just ten points against Wofford? If I remember correctly, Wofford lost almost their entire starting line-up to graduation.

Oh well. Fox will light a fire underneath our players at half-time and we will pull away, but I'm almost glad this one isn't on t.v.

Wofford Wins

Final score: 60 to 57.

We'll struggle. I thought we would be substantially better than last year. We beat them then without Terrance Woodbury.

But we're about the same. Even so, we had a chance to tie at the end of the game. Dustin Ware missed a free throw. He then had the ball at the end of the game with a chance to tie with a three, but he missed again.

We are really bad from the free throw line, and just as anemic from behind the arc. If there is any good news, it's that our big men are pretty good. Travis Leslie went 7 of 11 from the field, 2 of 2 from the line, and 1 for 1 from three-point distance.

I would play Leslie and Thompkins the whole game. Never take them out. We just don't have any others who can score the basketball.

Wofford leading 58 to 53

Under a minute to go. I would take a Zac Swansey three, now. He's gone, so Ricky McPhee or Dustin Ware will have to do something. I'd try to run something for Thompkins. Chances are he will have a big man on him who won't be able to challenge well on the perimeter.

Georgia against Wofford

Game is at 2:00 in Athens.

Georgia should win this one, but you never know. The key, I think, will be exploiting our size advantage on the inside.

Wofford does have a guy who is 6' 9", but other than that, they are truly undersized, compared to Jackson, Thompkins, Price and Barnes.

Wofford will likely try to get Junior Samples, er, rather Salters going. I never did like Hee-Haw very much, so let's have Corey Butler shut this guy down.

I'd like to see Georgia get a comfortable lead, enough so that we can see some more of Drazen Zlovaric and Troy Brewer.
