In a recent game, Demario Mayfield scored 27 points, with 13 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 1 blocked shot.
In a positive sign for UGA's future, Mayfield went 9 of 11 from the free throw line.
Mayfield's team, the Franklin Lions, went into the Christmas Tournament at 7 and 1 on the year, and in first place in region 8AAA.
Could Mayfield be the scoring two-guard that Georgia needs?

I hope so. If he is not the two guard we need, then we are in trouble for a long time to come. Even a new coach won't help the glaring omission of a pure shooter on this team. Also, it seems that all of our guards were real good free throw shooters in high school, but now have issues in college. Maybe they need to practice more in the Steg than the new facility. Take the UF approach, you do not reap the benefits of luxury until you have earned it.
